Latest Update:

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the registration period for the 2023 UTME by one week, beginning on Wednesday, February 15th, 2024. By this extension, the sale of ePINs would end on Monday, February 20th, 2024, while UTME registration would end on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2024.

At the conclusion of the sale of ePINs on Tuesday, February 14, 2024, 1,527,068 applicants had successfully registered for the 2024 UTME, including 168,748 who had expressed interest in taking the Mock-UTME.

Notably, the Board had enhanced its ability to register up to one hundred thousand applicants every day, based on its forecasts. This allowed for the registration of all interested candidates within a few days.

However, fewer than 50,000 candidates showed up for registration, which was less than the established registration capacity. Surprisingly, the pace increased up dramatically in the final two days before the deadline, with over a hundred thousand applicants enrolling on a daily basis.

In addition, the Board, as a responsive and proactive organisation, took note of complaints from around the country showing that many Nigerians were having trouble using their electronic channels to purchase ePINs or access cash within the allotted time frame. As a result, it has granted this extension to guarantee that all candidates who wish to register for the 2024 UTME will have the opportunity to do so, particularly when the difficulties they face are not their fault.
