The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has announced the process for issuing certificates to the graduates of the 12th Convocation Ceremony, which will take place at various state capital study centres and at each of the study centres in the Federal Capital Territory and Lagos State from April 3rd to 14th, 2024.

Certificate Issuance Dates and Holiday Suspension

Due to the Easter Holidays, certificate issuance will be suspended on April 7th (Good Friday) and April 10th (Easter Monday) to observe the religious holidays.

Guidelines for Certificate Collection

NOUN has outlined strict regulations for graduates to follow when collecting their certificates. These guidelines are as follows:

  1. Visit Respective Study Centres: Graduates must visit their respective state capital study centres, while those in the Federal Capital Territory and Lagos State must visit their respective study centres for certificate collection.
  2. Present Final Clearance: Graduates must present their duly signed and stamped final clearance from the Bursary before collecting their certificates.
  3. Submit Alumni Clearance: The alumni clearance must also be presented before certificate collection.
  4. Provide Approved Means of Identification: Graduates must present either their NOUN student ID card or an original national ID card, international passport, voter’s card, or driver’s license for sighting. A photocopy of the ID must be attached to the clearance for submission before certificates are issued.
  5. Collect Convocation Brochure: All graduates will receive a convocation brochure alongside their certificate after fulfilling the above requirements.
  6. Submission of Bound Copies for Postgraduate Students: MEd, MSc, and MA program graduates must submit bound copies of their corrected dissertations (with evidence sighted) to be issued certificates.
  7. No Additional Fees: Graduates are advised not to pay any additional fees under any guise for certificate collection. Defaulting graduates must pay outstanding fees through REMITA to the university’s official accounts.
